Fred Buchholz Insurance

Fred grew up in St. Louis going to

Beaumont High School and being a

bat boy at old Sportman's Park for

the St. Louis Cardinals and the

St. Louis Browns. Shortly after

leaving being a batboy, Fred started  

in the insurance business going to

the library and researching public

records of homeowners on several

blocks. He would find out when their

homeowners insurance was up and

would go door to door prior to their

renewals. Back in the day many

people had a Fire policy and Dwelling

policy that left many gaps which left

people uncovered for all kinds of

losses. The new homeowners policy

cost less but provided a more

comprehensive coverage. You could drivedown blocks of roads in St. Louis and Fred would have every one on the block insured with exceptions of one or two homes. Fred began to get involved in giving back to the community that provided him with his business. He was a member and president of Normandy Athletic Club; helped start the Hazelwood Optimist Club; former president of the Florissant Valley Chamber Of Commerce (aka Greater North County Chamber Of Commerce), former president of the Ferguson-Berkley Chamber Of Commerce (aka NorthWest Chamber Of Commerce); former president of the Rotary Club Of Florissant; member of the Missouri Athletic Club, 1-2-3 Club, and involved with the St. Louis Sports Hall Of Fame and has been involved in assisting/ sponsoring at the Missouri Sports Hall Of Fame. Those organization have worked to help the continuous growth and development of the community through assisting local charities, helping promote North County people and businesses, and scholarships to young people in the community building leaders for the future of the community.
